Name
Description

Bertha is a confirmed pregnant Highland x Dexter cow with a strong history as a proven momma. She is 6 years old, an easy calver, and has raised strong, healthy calves for us year after year.

She is confirmed bred and expected to calve around mid to late November.

Calving and Mothering Ability

Bertha has been a dependable cow in our program. She calves easily and takes good care of her babies.

Her calves grow strong and do very well on her, which tells us she produces good-quality milk and has the maternal ability we love to see in a brood cow.

She has also given us heifers every single year, including Clementine in 2023, Mocha in 2024, and lastly, a beautiful red heifer in 2025.

What She Produces

When bred to a Highland bull, Bertha’s calves can get a considerable amount of hair. She brings a nice mix of Highland influence, Dexter genetics, and practical maternal strength.

Her expected calf could be sired by one of our miniature bulls, including our Miniature Highland bulls in silver, white, or dun, our Miniature Polled HighPark bull, or our Western Heritage bull, who is also polled.

Because of that, she brings exciting calf possibilities, including Highland influence, small-framed genetics, unique color potential, and possible polled genetics depending on the sire.

Her Temperament

Bertha is a practical, pasture-raised cow. She will come to the fence for treats from time to time and does well in a normal herd setting.

She is best suited for someone who understands cattle, values a proven brood cow, and can handle her with calm, confident, low-stress methods.
