Description
Momma is a 10-year-old Mini Highland cow with a strong history as a breeding cow. She calves easily and quickly, and we even captured one of her babies’ births on video.
She has had three calves with us:
- Her first was a very sweet dun-colored heifer.
- Then, in 2024, she gave us a gorgeous white bull calf.
- Most recently, she had Snow White, one of the favorite white Highland heifers from our tours.
Her Calves
Momma passes on a gentle and loving temperament to her babies. In fact, her calves have been some of the sweetest we have raised.
Because of that, she can make a wonderful addition to a breeding program that values temperament, predictability, and calving ease.
She has also been running with our Miniature bulls. Therefore, she may give you the opportunity to bring home two for the price of one.
Important Care Note
Momma does not produce milk. Because of this, you will need to bottle-raise her calf or graft the baby onto another cow. This is something to plan for ahead of time.
Most of the time, Momma is very friendly. She enjoys brushing, petting, and attention from people.
However, after we separate her from a calf, she can become defensive and protective for a short period. With time, patience, and a slow reintroduction, she usually settles back into her friendly personality within a couple of weeks.
